Starving Artist Studios

As a last fun day before school started back I took the girls to the Starving Artist Studios. We went there to do Mother's Day Plates for me, Nana, and Gran Gran. And ever since we had been there the girls wanted to go back to do something for themselves. So I took them on the Weds. before school started (on Weds. kids session fee is cheaper).

Em painted a mirror.

Close up

KA painted a fairy (she wanted Tinkerbell, but they
didn't have any). She was actually laughing in this
pic.

I should have taken a pic. of the back. The fairy
has long blonde hair with pink flowers in her hair.

On Friday Nights they have Ladies Night. My neighbor Christina invited me to go with her and her sister in law. I knew after looking with the girls I wanted to paint flip flops, I just didn't know what I wanted to do with the flip flops. Well, my bestie, Jolene Stoots, came thru for me and gave me a GREAT idea (although it is VERY hard to believe she came up with the idea, I'm just sayin!!!!)......

HOUNDSTOOTH flip flops for ALABAMA!!!
I thought they turned out so cute, if I do say so myself!

Living Museum

I did a post about a month ago when we went to the zoo, that is where KA wanted to go before school started back. Well Emily wanted to got to the Living Museum, so we went the Monday before school started on Tuesday!

KA and Em looking through the
microscope.

KA loved this, it shows how the
jaw of a snake works.

Emily really likes the rocks, especially
since her class study rocks and when
they went on a fieldtrip to the Minefield's
back in May.

Em wanted to pose with all of
the rocks.

BFF's!!

I think I am caught up with the blog now. I haven't taken many pictures since school started. Scott and I have been working on one area of the yard each weekend, trying to get the holly trees under control until we can get them cut down. We are still enjoying the house. And both girls are still liking school!

Misc. Photos

Following are just some pictures that I took the weekend before school started.

Getting ready to go to eat lunch with
Mommy and Daddy, their last Friday lunch
with us. Mommy and Daddy now get to
go to lunch on Friday's by ourselves!!
They had went to meet their teachers this morning,
but I never took the camera out of my pocket!

Saturday morning the girls asked Scott to get out the soccer goal and teach them to play. I think they lasted for about 10 mins., but they had a great time!

LOVE this picture!

Love this one too!

Go Emmy!

Go Kerri!

We got to see the birds take a bath in the
our bird bath.

August 20, 2009 Pt. 2

We went with some friends to Buckroe Beach in the afternoon. This is the first and only time this summer that we have went to the beach. The girls had a good time, until Em got stung by a jellyfish. She was so brave!

Isn't she cool!

August 20, 2009 Pt. 1

During the last week before school was a busy week. We did a few things that the girls wanted to do as a last hurrah before school! On Thursday, Aug. 20th we went to the church for a PJ party and to watch Boz. KA had been really excited to go do this.

Zoo Photos

On Tuesday, August 18,2009 we went to the Zoo. School was going to start a week from this day and we were taking the week to do some mfun things. I feel as if we haven't had a summer, with moving into the new house and all the things that we had to do after we moved in. So I wanted the girls to be able to each pick a place where they wanted to go, and KA picked the zoo. It was a HOT day when we went! So, the first thing that the girls did when we got there was play in the fountain! Then we went and looked at the animals, then came back to the fountain! After playing in the fountain some we were hungry and ate the lunch that I had packed and ate in the car! You can click on the collage and see the pictures bigger, but not separately.

KA was a little leary of the fountain at first, but by the second time they played in it she was walking thru the middle and sitting on it like Em had been doing the whole time!

Tea Party

While we were gone on vacation we had a friend from church/neighbor, Mrs. Sandy, getting our mail from our rental house, since she lived just down the road. When we went to pick it up we sat and talked for a while and the girls ran all over her house. She was telling about how she used to have tea parties with her granddaughter and Em looked at her and asked, "do you still have the tea set?" Which she didn't. But she told the girls that she would have to have them over soon for a real tea party. Well a few days later she called to set a date for the party. She had went looking at different thrift stores and found cups, saucers, and a tea pot. The girls were SO EXCITED!!! They were counting the days. Well the day finally came, August 13, 2009, Emily asked if they could wear church dresses and shoes. When we got to Mrs. Sandy's house we found out that she had been just as excited as the girls. She had been telling all her friends and one wanted to join them :o) I was not invited! They had a great time. She had raspberry tea and another kind with cinnamon is all the girls could tell me. Emily liked the tea!

At home.

Mrs. Sandy had them red hats to wear! The girls
LOVED them and wore them the entire time!

Living Museum

The first week of August Emily got to go to Worship Arts Camp at the church and so one day KA and I headed to the Living Museum to have a little fun too.

We had fun. We were both just glad that we were able to get out of the house for a little while! She asked me if she could bring her binoculars the next time we go there.
