Christmas 2009

Yesterday, Christmas Eve, we went to Liberty's Christmas Eve service. The children's choirs sang, Pastor Grant read the Christmas story to the children on the stage, we had the Lord's Supper, and sang Silent Night by Candlelight, it was truly an awesome time of worship and a great way to get ready for Christmas Day. After the service we went home and the girls put on their new Christmas PJs. Then they played for a while. Emily worried pretty much about not being able to go to sleep, which kept her up until 2 am, when Scott went in and told her that Santa would leave us her presents and she wouldn't get them until the 26th if she didn't go to sleep, she went to sleep!!! They woke up around 8 am Christmas morning. Everyone was happy with want Santa brought them.

Gran Gran and Aunt Kim made it after we had celebrated Jesus' birthday. And got to see our house, the cat, the santa gifts, etc. We were glad that they were able to come up and spend Christmas with us this year and we were thrilled not to have to travel!! After lunch: Ham, Mac and Cheese, Hashbrown Casserole, Green Beans, and biscuits, we opened a few more gifts.

Trying to get a Christmas card pic...

I had planned to use the picture that we had made with Santa at Bass Pro Shop as the Christmas card pic, but it turned out to be really light and so I came home and took pics of the girls in front of our tree. It was hard getting them both looking at the camera, but I finally got one that I liked. Here are a few from my trying...

Wriley came to visit...

Back at the beginning of December another one of Kerri Ann's class "pets" came home to visit. Her name is, Wriley the Raccoon. We didn't do much the first day she was with us, but on that Saturday we went out to eat and we went and adopted Samanta. This weekend was also the weekend that my camera battery died and I discovered that the charger is in Alabama! So, I didn't get as many pics. as I would have wanted :-( Again we were to take pics and write about the things that KA and Wriley did during their time together.

Introducing Samantha...

On Saturday, December 5, we adopted Samantha from PetSmart. I went into PetSmart on the Weds. before and started looking at the cats, I feel in LOVE with Samantha. I went in on Thurs. to play with her and then I made Scott go look at her on Friday with me. There were a couple other kittens that I was looking at too, but Samantha would always come up me and let me pet her and she was playful. We were having a hard time figuring out how to actually adopt her. PetSmart doesn't actually adopt the cats, the Humane Society does. I called on Thurs, but they didn't call me back. Well on Sat. we went in with the girls and the Humane Society happened to come during that time!! So she let us get Samantha out and pet her and hold her. Then to make sure she was the right cat, we were able to get out some of the other cats, they were a little more shy. So Samantha came home with us. She has been such a sweet cat. The girls love her and spend each afternoon getting her to go up to the playroom with them. She is a 5 months old, Tabby cat.

Christmas Time

On the Sunday after Thanksgiving we put up the tree (and that is all we did to the tree that day) and went and bought outside decorations. We haven't decorated outside since our last Christmas in Mobile, so the girls were really excited, of course, so was I!!! I LOVE Christmas!

later, when Scott was out of town.

I added just a few things. Towards the top
it may be a little sparse on ornaments, but
I just wanted to let it go however the girls
decorated it this year. They were stretching

New Tradition....

Elf on a Shelf! My Aunt Betty gave this to the girls for Christmas. The Elf has a book that come with him. The story tells about how the elf is sent by Santa to watch to see who has been naughty or nice. The girls can talk to the elf and he will tell Santa what they tell him, but he can't talk to them. The Elf can talk to the parents. At night the Elf goes back to the North Pole to report to Santa and then comes back in a different place in the morning and the girls have to go find him. The book has you name your Elf. Scott picked the name Murphy and we all agreed.

I haven't taken anymore pics, mainly because I left the charger to my camera battery at Nana and Poppa's and the other reason, it would get old showing you all the places he has hidden :o) The girls are having fun in the mornings getting up to look for him.
