Zeus Family Reunion

The 3rd graders at Emily's school study Greece and Greek Mythology throughout the school year. They all picked a god or goddess to research and then today they presented their info. to their classmates and parents, in character. At the end of the presentations the class quoted the following verse: "For you, O Lord, are the Most High over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods." (Psalm 97:9) And they learned that the gods/goddesses were more like humans only stronger. They all really seemed to enjoy the Zeus Family Reunion.

Snow Day February

On Weds., February 10th we looked outside as we were getting ready for school and saw snow! We are kind of getting tired of snow. It was fun back a few weekends ago when we got 7", but not when EVERY weekend it seems to snow! But this day we had to head to school anyways. By 10 am the school was calling to say that school was closing early. Snow was coming down fast and sticking. I went and got the girls and by the time we got home and settled the sun was shining (about 11 am). Here are some pics. I didn't get pictures of the after and none of the girls in the snow. We didn't go out in it, just hung out and played inside. We even went to church that night.

SNOW 2010 Part 3

Monday, February 1st was a SNOW DAY!!! The girls got to stay home from school. Scott got a 2 hour delay. We missed him and finally ventured out after lunch. The sun was out and so it wasn't as cold. We walked back to the hill across from the airport.

SNOW 2010 Part 2

Sat. late night it started snowing more. I think it snowed a little on and off through out the night. So when we woke up Sunday morning we had a little more snow. Scott had to go to the church, they had the 9:15 and 11:00 service, but no ABF, so the girls and I didn't go to church. Scott went out and cleaned his truck off and took pictures of what had fallen over night. On Sat. we measured 7" of snow in the back of Scott's truck and some drifts of 10". This is what he measured on Sunday morning.......

We didn't get out in the snow until after lunch when Scott got home from church. The snow was now wet enough for us to make a snowman!!! So that was our project...

that she wouldn't like it, but we think she did, she
was wanting to run, but Scott brought her in quickly
we are not too sure if she would come back or not.

Our neighbor let us borrow their flat shovel and
snow shovel to clean our driveway off.

I helped too! Lots of work!

Later that afternoon we found out that school was cancelled for Monday (today)!!! Daddy got to go in at 10am. This has been so much fun having snow. I am sure that in a few more days I am going to be tired of it!
